    As a backend engineer tasked with architecting, designing and executing complex feature delivery including a beta subscriptions service, a new ratings system, menu hydration, and real time customer segment placement.     • Allowed for huge menu docs to be hydrated asynchronously using event-driven architecture employing Kafka, Debezium, & Redis events to intelligently bust cache on stale menus.

    • Lead a group to plot out a real time system to classify customers based on their value in order to enable targeted marketing while ensuring load is distributed and as asynchronous as possible.

    • Architected a backend API and database to enable new ratings system allowing for weighted tags affecting different scores while allowing for backwards compatibility.

    • Mentored interns and Jr. Engineers on best practices, system architecture and design patterns.

    • On a day to day basis worked with the AWS toolset to deploy and support Favor’s network of microservices. From deploying on ElasticBeanstalk and EC2, to migrating systems to kubernetes, monitoring via Cloudwatch, resource setup via Terraform, and much more.
